High Holy Days

Rosh-Hashanah-Pictures1High Holy Days are a time for reflection, introspection, prayer, and re-connection.  We welcome you to join us in celebrating and observing these special Holy Days.  We offer a variety of services to meet the spiritual needs of our diverse community. Please see the Schedule of Services for a list of dates, times, and locations of services.Come share the spirit and wisdom of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. These Holy Days are a time of prayer, music, reflection and learning.  Come and join our congregational family for a spiritually deep High Holy Day experience.Members of the congregation will automatically receive their High Holy Day tickets for each adult member of your household and dependent children over the age of 18 (Children 17 years old and under do not require a ticket).  Members are also welcomed to purchase additional tickets for other relatives and guests at a discount rate.

If you are not a member of the congregation, and not yet ready to make that commitment, we welcome you to join us for our family service on Rosh Hashanah or any time on Yom Kippur afternoon.

Participate in High Holy Day Services

Our tradition at Or Ami is to offer our congregants the opportunity to participate in worship services at the High Holy Days, whether or not they volunteer at Or Ami at other times during the year. Your family members (over age 13) are invited to accept an English reading during the services described on the form.

Please submit the completed form no later than July 27th. Please indicate three choices. Each eligible family member should submit a separate form.

High Holy Day New Year Card

Several years ago, Or Ami started the wonderful tradition of a congregational New Year card.   This beautifully printed card, featuring a reproduction of original Jewish art, is sent to every family in the congregation as well as the nursery school. For a small donation of $36, families have the opportunity to list their names on the card along with other sponsors.

Please consider adding your name to our annual New Year card. Join with other families as we wish everyone in our synagogue community a happy and healthy New Year. Deadline for submissions is August 24th.

Options:  A family’s name can be written as either (for example):

 Option 1 – John, Jane, Mary and Bill Stein OR

Yiskor Book of Remembrance 5773 – 2012
It is a Jewish tradition to honor the memory of our loved ones by giving Tzedakah. You may use this online form to submit names for our annual Yizkor Book of Remembrance that is printed for our Yom Kippur Yizkor Service.
